Learning Outside the Classroom

Bespoke Farm Sessions for SEN Children & Children Not Attending School

A safe, nurturing space where every child can learn, grow, and thrive.

Learning Outside the Classroom

At our family-run farm, we offer bespoke sessions created especially for SEN children and children that are currently not in school, and cater to all ages and capabilities. We understand that mainstream school isn’t always the best fit for every child, and that some young people thrive in more practical, hands-on, nurturing environments.

In Cheshire West and Chester alone, it is expected by the end of June 2026 there will be at least 950 children that won’t be attending a school — a number that continues to grow as families seek flexible, supportive alternatives to traditional classrooms.

Our Sessions

Sessions are small and personalised, ensuring each child receives the time, care, and attention they need to grow in confidence and ability.

Children take part in a wide range of hands-on farm activities, from caring for alpacas, goats, donkeys, and smaller animals to learning about animal welfare, teamwork, and responsibility. Some of the activities they may get involved in include:

  • Feeding the animals
  • Bathing and general husbandry of the animals
  • Building enrichment toys & treats
  • Grooming the animals
  • Weighing the animals
  • Data collection and analysis (depending on capabilities)
  • Bottle feeding the lambs (seasonal)
  • And don’t forget plenty of animal cuddles!

These sessions are designed to help children increase their self-esteem and gain practical skills, social confidence, and a sense of achievement in a calm, relaxed environment.

“A place where every child can feel happy, confident, and part of the team.”

Learning, Friendship & Growth

Children that are not in school can sometimes face isolation and limited opportunities for social or work-based learning.

Our farm offers a welcoming space where children can:

  • Build friendships and social confidence
  • Develop practical and life skills
  • Gain independence and a sense of achievement

Many of our young learners go on to volunteering, mainstream education, or even future employment, inspired by the confidence and skills they develop here.

Experienced, Caring Team

Our dedicated team combines years of hands-on experience working with SEN and vulnerable learners. Every member is:

  • DBS Checked
  • Trained in Autism Awareness, Safeguarding, First Aid, Mental Health Awareness and Mental Health First Aid

We provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to explore, learn, and thrive.
